Coming Up Sakura
It's always spring
in Marvel Japan -- in particular, the one week or so around the
beginning of April when the cherry blossoms are in bloom. Strange,
though, you never see any drunk office workers sitting under the
trees doing karaoke.
One other point about
this shot, from Wolverine 150 (May 2000; Writer/artist:
Steve Skroce): Wolvie is addressing a recurring character named "Kenuichio". "Kenichiro" would
be a common Japanese men's name; somebody screwed it up before
the character made it to the page.
