Sunfire's
sister appears in Uncanny X-Men 392 (April 2001;
Writer: Scott Lobdell, Penciler: Salvador Larroca). But the last name has morphed
from the un-heard of "Yashida" to the common last name "Yoshida". That's the
only proof she's Japanese; "Leyu" sounds much more Chinese to me (though I don't
know if such a name exists in China, either). Guess they decided they couldn't
go correcting her first name, too; instead, they killed her off in issue 404.
